Be welcoming, be our best, play fair, be passionate!

The Tawa RFC Way

  • BE WELCOMING - TE POU MAIOHA

Treat everyone equally regardless of ability, gender, age, ethnicity and religion.

Make sure everyone has a voice and by doing so, be open to concerns and or input from our community and always be looking to improve as a club and as individuals.

Provide facilities that are accessible and safe for our community to use.

  • BE OUR BEST - TE POU HIRANGA

Seek to improve our knowledge of rugby and best practice in sport to be able to provide a safe, fun learning environment that is appropriate to each age and stage.

Strive to create equal development opportunities for everyone involved with our club.

Focus on a participant centred approach when planning or delivering any development opportunities.

  • PLAY FAIR - TE POU TIKA

Always put development over results and strive to be our best on and off the field by respecting all that volunteer to officiate our game.

Role model good behaviour to be a positive influence on our tamariki and others in our community AND

Be accountable for our own actions, offer non-judgmental guidance to those that require support or advice and seek external expertise when needed to ensure the right outcomes for all.

  • BE PASSIONATE - TE POU IHIIHI

Aim to be our best on the field as a player or coach - 'Winning isn't everything, but trying to win is'

Be proud to represent Tawa and wear our colours as well as show respect to other clubs and their passion for our game.

Connect and collaborate with our community to grow relationships beyond rugby.
